Enterprise Service Management Solutions – a commentary

Cloud based service management solutions have gone past the basics of tracking incidents, monitoring targets and managing changes. They now offer that and so much more.

The advent of the graphical user interface, ease of configuration, intuitive reporting capabilities and the power of wizards have allowed these solutions to move from “just” IT Service Management applications to true development platform with Enterprise Service capabilities.

When ServiceNow was founded in 2003 by Fred Luddy, the veteran CTO of Peregrine Systems and Remedy Corporation. The industry experts thought of it as another ITSM application.

New Chapter for Quintica Group

Taking advantage of Watchstone Plc’s strategic move to divest from certain non-aligned business assets, an independent investment group secured the outright purchase of UK based Quintica Holdings, effective from 7 March 2016. Quintica CEO, Charles Osburn and ex Dimension Data CEO, Allan Cawood have been appointed to represent the group’s interests and take up the positions of CEO and Chairman of the Board respectively.

Charles and Allan previously founded DNS, a South African focused networking and services company in the 1980s and after building it into the third largest networking company

Western Australia Government not immune to Cyber attacks

Many organisations may not highlight the fact they were the subject of a cyber attack, let alone be adversely affected by such an attack, but Government is transparent.

February 16th is when the attacks are expected to have started and the end result was a total shutdown of the Governments IT, Phones and Paging systems. Total e-communication blackout.
